内容介绍 : | (continued from part one) After the death of Lord Chun, Chi-fung confronts Ying-suet for the control of the family fortune. She threatens to expose the secret that Ying-suet's daughter, Siu-suet, is an illegitimate child to the family. Ying-suet refuses to yield to Chi-fung. Her father, Lo-chuen, overhears the quarrel and intervenes. During a struggle, Chi-fung falls against a broken wine bottle and dies. Lo-chuen hides the body but inadvertently drops Chi-fung's brocaded shoe, which is picked up and kept by Ying-suet. Eight years later, the other members of the Chun family are unhappy with Ying-suet running the house. Siu-suet, now a youngster, is upset by rumours that her mother is having an affair with her second uncle Chung-yu and that they have conspired to kill Chi-fung. Siu-suet distances herself from her mother. Chung-yu moves out of the house to stop the rumours. He becomes a teacher. At this juncture, Fung-cheung returns. He has become a famous police detective and has been assigned to investigate the death of Chi-fung. First, he pretends to revive his love affair with Ying-suet, so as to exact a confession from her. Ying-suet falls into the trap and agrees to run away with Fung-cheung. However, Fung-cheung has taped her confession during an assignation at a hotel, and is in possession of the single piece of evidence that would implicate her: the brocaded shoe, which Ying-suet has handed over to him. Ying-suet is brought to court. She pleads guilty and reveals at court that Siu-suet is Fung-cheung's daughter. The court sentences Ying-suet to life imprisonment. Lo-chuen, too is implicated and serves a lighter sentence. A regretful Fung-cheung promises to look after Siu-suet as Ying-suet goes to jail. (Based on viewing of the film.) |
