内容介绍 :	The rich young man Tao Shu-nam has lost his lover Lan-sum in Hong Kong. His father thus sends him to work in his company in Japan. His elder brother Shu-tung takes Shu-nam to the workshop and observe how pearls and precious stones are picked and collected. There, they meet one of the workers Yuko, who is a woman of mixed Chinese and Japanese blood. As she looks like Lan-sum, Shu-nam gains a favourable impression of her. On their way out to the sea, he saves some workers bravely and this is appreciated by Yuko. Shu-tung sends Yuko to tour around Japan with Shu-nam. When the couple are in the maple forest, Shu-nam expresses his love to Yuko. But their relationship is opposed by Yuko's father Sakai, who attempts to kill his daughter when he is drunk. Later Sakai kills himself and Yuko follows Shu-nam back to Hong Kong. His father is pleased to see that Shu-nam has cheered up again, but he is averse to Yuko for having Japanese blood. This puts Shu-nam in a difficult position and makes Yuko frustrated. In a party, Shu-nam's father is furious at Yuko for being in the limelight and so expels her from his home. Shu-nam takes her to seek temporary refuge in the home of Lan-sum's mother, who immediately asks Yuko about her life story. It turns out that Yuko is Lan-sum's twin sister. Lan-sum's mother then acts on her behalf and argues with Shu-nam's father. It is also beyond one's expectation that Shu-nam's father and Lan-sum's mother had once been lovers who were separated because of war. Shu-nam's father never opposes the relationship between his son and Yuko again. The couple finally get married and set up a family.
