内容介绍 :	A young man called Sai-kit comes from a wealthy family, he goes to live with his uncle temporarily with his servant Ku Ling. The daughter of the Chuk family, Chui-sum, admires Sai-kit's outstanding literary talent, and the two express their tender feelings by sending each other poems and letters. Ku Ling tries hard to bring Sai-kit and Sum together and they fall in love gradually. Sai-kit's elder brother is weak that his mother decides to arrange a wedding for him to counteract bad luck. So his mother summons Sai-kit back home but Sum is reluctant to let him go. Actually, Sum is arranged to marry Sai-kit's elder brother. Sum's brother Yuen-sau and his wife force her to accept this marriage for money. At the wedding day, Sai-kit's brother dies of illness and his mother puts the blames on Sum. Sai-kit and Sum express their feelings to each other. When his mother sees their intimate relation, she is very angry and does not allow them to see each other. As Sai-kit is depressed, so his mother sends him to work outside. After Sai-kit has left, his mother is very acrimonious to Sum. Sum then gradually feels she cannot tolerate any more that she escapes back to her home. Meanwhile Ku Ling leaves and find support from his uncle Lui Fu. When Ku Ling finds out that Sum suffers from the cold shoulder of her sister-in-law, he decides to help her. As Sai-kit is weakened by his worry for Sum, his mother takes Sum home and Sai-kit feels really happy. However, Sum's sister -in-law pleads infidelity to break them up that makes Sum feel very depressed. On the wedding of Ku Ling and Lan Heung, Sum's sister-in-law brings alone the head-villager to catch Sum. Sum then commits suicide, leaving a message. On the day of commemorating Sum, Sai-kit is out of his right mind. Finally his mother and Sum's sister-in-law know that they are wrong. Actually, Sum is still alive, she unites with Sai-kit at the end.
