内容介绍 : | Second Madame, a hot-tempered woman, is the step-wife of architect Master Hung. Siu-keung and Siu-lan are her own son and daughter. Siu-kong, the son of Hung's first wife, is viewed by Second Madame as a thorn in her eyes. Siu-kong is capable and is much loved by his stepbrother and stepsister. He is in love with Lau Yuk-ying, while Siu-keung has fallen in love with woman worker Fung Wai-yu who becomes pregnant. Eyeing on Lau's family fortune, Second Madame arranges a marriage between Siu-keung and Yuk-ying. Not willing to offend his brother, Siu-keung forces Siu-kong into the nuptial chamber to spend the night with Yuk-ying. Wai-yu's brother Fung Kin breaks into the chamber to call Siu-keung into account on behalf of his sister and beats Siu-keung up. Kin goes into the bridal suite and thus learns the truth of the situation, he helps Siu-keung to depart and to tend to his wound. The next morning, Second Madame discovers that it is Siu-kong who has spent the night in the chamber. Seeing blood on the floor, she suspects that Siu-kong has killed his stepbrother. The police is summoned. Fortunately, Siu-kong escapes with the help of his father, and hides in a temple. Second Madame shifts her wrath to Yuk-ying, and takes in Wai-yu to await the day when she will give birth. Unable to withstand Second Madame's ill treatment, Yuk-ying collapses from illness. Siu-kong disguises himself as a monk to visit her but the visit is discovered by Second Madame. She calls the police, but Fung Kin makes a timely appearance to explain that Siu-keung is still alive and that he has taken vows as a monk . Siu-keung is visited by Wai-yu, Siu-kong and Yuk-ying and despite their entreaties, he refuses to return home because of the presence of his vindictive mother. As a last resort, Wai-yu fakes her death. A distraught Siu-keung mourns at her grave; Wai-yu makes her appearance and finally persuades Siu-keung to return home to be reunited with his family.
