内容介绍 :	Cao Cao bases his army at Xiangyang, hoping to forge an alliance with Sun Quen of Jiangdong so that they may ford the river to fight against Liu Bei, commander of the Wu principality . However, Lu Su, an aide of Sun Quen proposes that an alliance be forged with Liu Bei against Cao instead. In Bei's camp, military strategist Kong Ming realises that only an alliance with Quen can withstand Cao. Ming is taken by Su to meet Quen for negotiations. Quen is too frightened of Cao and his powerful army that he asks his general Zhou Yu for advice. Yu, originally favouring an alliance with Cao, is persuaded to turn against Cao when Ming tells him that Cao has long coveted his wife , Xiao Qiao. Thus an anti-Cao alliance is forged between the two camps. However, the alliance hesitates to directly challenge Cao's army. Yu finally comes up with a war plan, first by having Cao kill two of his ablest generals and then tricking Cao to chain his barges. Ming devises a plan to collect an arsenal of arrows from Cao by sailing straw boats near his camp in a foggy night. Yu piles up tens of thousand of arrows but his plan to set fire on the barges is foiled by the lack of an easterly wind. Ming helps Yu to borrow three days of gust from the heaven to facilitate their plans. Yu eventually burnt down the barges. Knowing that Yu would be jealous of his talents, Ming returns to Jingzhou.
