内容介绍 :	Rich widower Wan Leung and his two sons, Yi-bo and Yan-bo live in a huge villa, the Red Chamber. Leung loves a maid Ching-wan and wants to marry her, but Ching-wan is secretly in love with Yi-bo. Meanwhile, Yi-bo's cousin Sit Kam-wan admires him, but Yi-bo is in love with another cousin Lam Yu-doi, who has come with her mother to stay in the Red Chamber. To further complicate the matter, Yan-bo is in love with Yu-doi. Yan-bo Sees his brother as a rival in love and Seeks to break up the romance between Yi-bo and Yu-Doi. Yan-bo brings his father to a performance of Ching-man Tears Fans, starring Sun Ma Si-tsang, implying to his father that Yi-bo should couple with Ching-wan. However, Leung decides to propose to Ching-wan. She accepts, on realising that she can no longer make Yi-bo love her. As the stepmother, Ching-wan plots to break up the romance between Yi-bo and Yu-doi. Prodded on by Ching-wan, Leung arranges with Yu- doi's mother for Yan-bo to marry her daughter. Yi-bo is extremely depressed. An old servant Ah Luk decides to intervene. He invites Leung to another Sun Ma Si-tsang's performance Bo-yuk Cries at the Funeral Hall so as to make Leung realise the value of true love. However, Sun Ma Si-tsang changes his opera programme and performs The New Butterfly Lovers instead. Fortunately, this, too is a story about the tragic separation of a pair of lovers and achieves the same effect on Leung. Finally, Leung calls off the impending marriage and allows Yi-bo to marry Yu-toi. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
