内容介绍 :	Cheung Lai's father promises Lai a pair of red shoes as a Christmas present, so in the morning when Lai sees a pair of red shoes, she happily wears them to a party. When Lai's father discovers that the red shoes he bought to please the boss' daughter have disappeared, he is so desperate and furious that he turns up at the party to berate Lai, which makes her sad. The father, however, finally comes to his senses, realising that nothing should override his parental love for his daughter. He then gives her the red shoes, which results in Lai enjoying a very happy Christmas. Lai shares a home with her stepmother and her children, who treat her badly. She originally worked as a machine operator in a factory for a living. Later, by chance, she becomes a movie star and in the company she meets a scriptwriter, Kong Ping. However, as Ping finds that the company is not seriously interested in producing quality films, he decides to quit. Lai has to stay on to support the family. One Christmas night, Lai is drugged and raped by the son of the film company's boss. Ping looks at this as Lai's decision, made in exchange for a better style of living. He decides not to see her again and leaves for England to further study film. Lai, despondent and distressed, loses her mind and is locked up in an asylum , people believing she is dead. When Ping returns, he feels sorry for what has happened to Lai and decides to help her. Sadly, when they meet again, she is unable to remember him. Ping resolves to use some memorable scene to bring back Lai's memory and rebuilds an old street set. As soon as Lai sees the old street scene, the beautiful past comes back and she and Ping spend a bright and hopeful Christmas night together.
