内容介绍 : | Fong Pak-kwun and Fong Chung-ken are brothers in love with their cousin, Chan So-ching. Knowing that their father, Fong Hin, has been captured by the Japanese during the war, the brothers decide to go to the front to rescue him. Before Chung-ken departs, he goes to a farewell party given by So-ching's father. Under the influence of alcohol, Chung-ken makes love to So-ching and she becomes pregnant. When her father learns of this, So-ching is expelled from the house. Pak-kwun comes back from the front having rescued his father but brings also the news that Chung-ken has been killed . When Pak-kwun learns of So-ching's predicament, he proposes that they fake a marriage in order that So-ching's honour may be preserved. Chung-ken, however, is not dead. He was wounded and has now become a cripple. He is nursed back to health by Cheung Wai-fong, the daughter of Commander Cheung. When Chung-ken returns home, he discovers that So-ching is "married" to his brother. Disgusted, Chung-ken goes to his uncle's home to stay. Not long after, So-ching gives birth to a boy. She brings the boy to visit Chung-ken's uncle and comes across Chung-ken. He treats her coldly and insults both her and his brother. In fact, Chung-ken , knowing that he is a cripple, does not want to impose himself on So-ching and therefore, pretends he no longer cares for her. When So-ching learns this, she pours her heart out to Chung-ken and finally convinces him of her love. They are reunited. Brother Pak-kwun, meanwhile, falls in love with Cheung Wai-fong and marries her. (Extracted from the film brochure.) |
