内容介绍 :	Famed song-girl Ha Ping is in love with the poor teacher Cheung Ka -wah. They marry but because Ha Ping does not want her reputation to adversely influence Ka-wah's progress, she decides to give up her life of singing. Ka-wah also conceals news about the marriage and lives with Ha Ping in a separate house . However, the marriage is reported in the newspapers and Ka-wah loses his job. To make ends meet, he now pleads for help from his guardian who demands, as a condition, that he leaves Ha Ping. Ka-wah rejects the demand , and with the help of friends, finds a job in a newspaper office. But Ka-wah becomes ill with an acute appendicitis. To raise funds for an operation, Ha Ping approaches Ka-wah's mother and is forced to agree to leave him once the surgery is over. One day before Ka-wah leaves the hospital, Ha Ping goes to work elsewhere. Meeting her old manager, Ha Ping makes a comeback as a song-girl, hoping to reunite with Ka-wah once her finances are in order. A few months later, with her fortunes secured, she goes to visit Ka-wah and discovers that he has fallen ill again, more out of lovesickness. Going to the hospital, Ha Ping witnesses that another woman is faithfully attending to Ka- wah's needs. Not willing to spoil their happiness, Ha Ping leaves disheartenedly.
