内容介绍 :	Ng Tai-lap is a drug pedlar. He works hard to earn money for his son Chi-keung to study medicine. He also decides to raise funds for his son to start his own clinic. The father is himself a university graduate. He once planned to start a factory with his fellow students Ma Kwong-fuk and Chan Man-wai after graduation. However, his father, Ng Siu-cheung, a herbal drug store owner, has incurred heavy debts to pay the bills for Tai-lap's university education. Tai-lap's girl friend Wong Sau-lan seeks help from a rich fellow student Fung Kar-kui, who takes advantage of it and rapes Sau- lan, leading to her departure from Tai-lap's life. Later, Tai-lap's father dies of an illness. And his hope to set up a factory is also dashed, Tai-lap marries his cousin Fung-ping. In order to earn a living, he becomes a drug pedlar. Now, Tai-lap pins all his hopes on his son. He wants him to become a famous doctor in the city. To raise funds, he seeks help from Kar-kui, now a company manager. However, Chi-keung is not interested in running his own clinic. His ideal is to serve the grassroots people in the countryside. Chi-keung's girl friend Fung Pui-chun is Sau-lan's daughter born after she was raped by Kar-kui. When Sau-lan learns that Tai-lap opposes his son's wish to go to the countryside, she comes forward in an attempt to persuade Tai-lap. But Tai-lap misunderstands her and suspects that she is trying to drive a wedge between him and his son. Later, Tai-lap collapses when peddling drug on the streets. Sau-lan donates blood to Tai-lap and saves him. Pui-chun also nurses him back to health. The moves finally win Tai-lap around. He realises that he should not obstruct Chi-keung's quest for ideal and gives his blessing to him. (Based on viewing of the film.)
