内容介绍 : | Yam Ming-fai is the daughter of a rich man in Southeast Asia. She disguises herself as a man and comes to Hong Kong to help Cheung Pak-ying run his import and export firm. Ming-fai secretly falls in love with Pak-ying, but Pak-ying loves a dance hall girl Chan Ping-sin. To sabotage their relation , Ming-fai deliberately gets close to Ping-sin, and thus arousing Pak-ying's jealousy. A frustrated Pak-ying posts a newspaper ad looking for a bride. Responding to the ad, Ming-fai sends her own photograph with her application to Pak-ying. But Pak-ying chooses another respondent, Chow Man-ling, whose application is sent by her mother. Man-ling has a boyfriend Lam Kwok-yau who works as a waiter in a nightclub, but her mother has incurred heavy debts and wants her to marry a rich man. Man-ling reluctantly goes out on a date with Pak-ying. While doing the rounds in the nightclub circuit, they come across Ping-sin and Ming-fai performing an opera, Modern Bo- yuk Meets Hung-leung. Feeling provoked, Pak-ying announces his marriage to Man-ling that upsets Kwok-yau. Ming-fai learns the story about Man-ling and Kwok-yau. She lends them some money to clear the debts so that they can get married. On the other hand, Ming-fai goes on dates with Pak-ying under the name of Ng Lo-mei. Now comes the day when Ming-fai's engagement to Ping-sin coincides with the exchange of nuptial gifts between Man-ling and Kwok-yau. Not seeing her fiance, Ping-sin goes to the firm to look for Ming-fai. At the same time, Kwok-yau and Man-ling also come to the firm to see Ming-fai because there is a problem with the cheque she issued. Ming-fai's father, Yam Kin-wai, also comes to look for his daughter. Finally, Ming-fai appears in woman dress and explains matters. However, Kin-wai announces that a marriage has been arranged for Ming-fai in Singapore. Ping-sin and Pak-ying resolve their differences and become engaged, while Man-ling and Kwok-yau clear all hurdles and become husband and wife. (Based on viewing of the film. ) |
