内容介绍 : | Wong Kai-man is pressured by his rich parents to take a bride as soon as possible, but he will only settle for a virtuous woman. Thus, he masquerades and works as a poor teacher and befriends two sisters, Lam Sau-mui and Lam Sau-lan. The sisters are attracted to him, undeterred by the fact that he is poor. One day, he asks his driver, Ah Ming, to give a lift to a poor broker, Wong Tong. On the way, a bicycle, while avoiding Ah Ming's car, knocks down Sau-lan. Immediately attracted by her beauty, Wong Tong insists on taking her home. Her mother mistakes Wong Tong for a rich man and warmly entertains him, in the hope that he would marry her daughter. Thus, Wong Tong masquerades as Kai-man and wins the mother's consent to marry Sau-lan. Opposing the match, Sau-lan runs away from home . The mother persuades Sau-mui to take her sister's place. Not willing to go against her mother's wishes, Sau-mui agrees. When Kai-man learns of this, he misunderstands Sau-mui's motives and resolves to marry Sau-lan. On the wedding day, Kai-man reveals his real identity, thus exposing Wong Tong's sham. For Sau-mui's sake, he takes no action against Wong Tong. Instead, he advises him to look after Sau-mui and promises to give him a job in the bargain. (Extracted from the film brochure.) |
