内容介绍 :	Hoi-tong is a maid serving in the home of the Lo family. She falls in love with second son Si-man, while keeping a distance from another admirer, elder son Si-nin. Since Si-man's father wants him to marry heiress Lisa, he therefore arranges to meet Hoi- tong that night to discuss plans, but he fails to keep the appointment when Lisa suddenly shows up and keeps him occupied. A drunken Hoi-tong mistakes Si-man for Si-nin. They make love, resulting in Hoi-tong's pregnancy. Si -man denies that he is responsible and accuses Hoi-tong of unchaste behaviour. Out of pique, Si-man marries Lisa. Helpless, Hoi-tong sets out for home during a stormy night. When Si-nin comes forward to explain, Hoi -tong has already disappeared. After enduring the war years, Hoi-tong brings son Siu-hong to stay with an old friend Chui-ling. Siu-hong gets into a fight with Bulky Kau, husband of Chui-ling, for suggesting that Hoi-tong be sold to a procuress. Knocking down Big Kau, Siu-hong runs away with his mother. The kid becomes a dock coolie. By chance, he meets Si-nin, now a doctor, and Si-man with his wife . Siu-hong steals money from Si-nin to give to his mother, but Hoi-tong admonishes Siu-hong and compels him to return the money. Si-nin generously gives Siu-hong half the money to start him off as a newspaper hawker. After bringing a charge against Bulky Kau for drug-trafficking, Siu-hong is beaten up and injured. Hoi-tong carries her injured son to seek treatment from Si-nin. Siu-hong is saved but loses an arm. Hoi- tong is reunited with the Lo brothers. The misunderstandings of the past are explained. Si-man, now divorced from Lisa and in love with Miss Chu, the nurse, decides to leave so as to bring Hoi-tong and Si-nin together. Siu-hong is commended by the police for his civic action. Si-nin is finally reunited with Hoi-tong and their son. (Extracted from the film handbill.)
