内容介绍 : | Poor painter Chiu But-fan is introduced by his good friend Wan Chun-shan to an accountant at a hotel restaurant, Wong Cho-shing. All three become good friends. Cho-shing has trained his girlfriend Sung Yim-fong singing and dancing skills. Yim-fong works in a perfume company, and asks Chun-shan to arrange for her to perform overseas. Meanwhile, a rich lady, Mui Yee-wah, is attracted to But-fan for his resemblance to her late husband, and agrees to sponsor a personal exhibition for But-fan. One night, But-fan meets Yim-fong at a nightclub and falls in love with her at first sight. He begins a courtship of Yim-fong, keeping Yee-wah in the dark. Though they make quite a match, Yim-fong has to reject But-fan out of her debt of gratitude to Cho-shing. But-fan pours out his feelings to Chun-shan, but just as Chun-shan is about to advise But-fan to leave Yim-fun, Cho-shing turns up. Chun-shan thus keeps Cho -shing in the dark of their affair. On the opening of But-fan's exhibition, a dinner banquet is organised at Mui Yee-wah's home. Yim-fong and Cho-shing come to congratulate But-fan. It is only now that Yim -fong realises that Cho-shing and But-fan are old friends. Learning that Yim-fong and Cho-shing will soon leave for an overseas performance before getting married, But-fan and Yim-fong reveal their feelings of love to each other which is overheard by Cho-shing, Yee-wah and Chun-shan. After the banquet, Yee-wah pours out her rage, but Cho-shing advises her to distinguish between love and gratitude. The next day, Yim-fong and But -fan leave for their trip abroad, while Cho-shing and Yee-wah become lovers out of commiseration for each other. (Extracted from the film novel) |
