内容介绍 : | Ma Chai-cheung, Keung Chik and Yu But-man are neighbours with a passion for music. They regularly perform at the neighbourhood welfare club. But-man is unemployed, while Chai -cheung and Chik are hawkers. One day, But-man retrieves the lost handbag of a top songstress Choi Yin-fei. He returns the handbag to Yin-fei and impresses her with his musical talent. Yin-fei expresses her interest to perform with him. Not willing to cause any misunderstanding with his fiancee Chow Yuk-lin, But-man changes his surname to But, hoping to explain the situation to Yuk-lin after he becomes famous. When the neighbourhood welfare club organises a fund-raising gala, Chai-cheung and Yuk-lin are invited to participate. Yung Yan-leung, manager of a sponsoring record company, also invites Yin-fei to perform there. Yin-fei asks But-man to perform with her, an invitation that But-man has no choice but to accept. On the day of the gala, Yuk-lin sees But-man leaving with Yin-fei; she goes into a jealous rage. But-man explains his situation to Yin-fei and gains her sympathy. On the day of the recording session, But-man is suddenly replaced by Chai-cheung in his duet with Yin-fei. As he leaves in a huff, Yan-leung asks him to come back to the studio, and he is surprised to see Yuk-lin inside. But-man realises that Yin-fei has arranged the switch in order to bring the two lovers together again. Chai-cheung and But-man's records sell like hotcakes. Their career and romance are now set on the road to success. (Extracted from the film handbill.) |
