内容介绍 :	Since the disappearance of her father, Wan-chau and her husband Kim-man desert their hometown. They have no idea where the father is because of the war. After the war, the couple leads a dog's life. Their son falls ill, and Wan-chau has to sing in a restaurant to raise money to cover his son's medical expenses. Kim-man composes songs that no one is interested in. He ends up writing scripts for a living. But he works so hard that he contracts a lung disease. Meanwhile, Kam-sing becomes a famous opera star in Southeast Asia. He still cannot forget Wan-chau and asks Fatty Hong to return to the hometown to look for her. Returning home, Fatty Hong discovers that Wan-chau's father is now a hawker. On visiting him, Fatty Hong learns that the father and daughter have lost contact with each other. Then, by chance, Fatty Hong bumps into Wan-chau and Kim-man on the street, and learns that the couple is having a tough time surviving. Fatty Hong gives them money, but when Kim-man learns that his benefactor is none but Kam-sing, he is totally dejected. He finishes his script against all odds, and bequeaths it to Wan-chau before ending his life by jumping into the sea. Fatty Hong takes care of Wan-chau and her son , and arranges for Kim-man's script to be produced. The play is performed by the returning Kam-sing. Kam-sing is joyously reunited with Wan-chau and her son. Wan-chau's father, informed by Fatty Hong, also arrives to join the family. (Extracted from the film handbill.)
