内容介绍 :	Wong Pak-ling is a rich man in his village . When his son dies of an illness, Pak-ling is persuaded by nephew Wong Yiu and a con man to arrange for his grandson Wong Chung, only one month old, to take a bride, believing that this would make infant grow up strong and prosperous. The bride is the 16-year-old Chow Yuet-wah who agrees to the marriage in order to settle her father's debts to Pak-ling. One day, Yuet-wah goes to meet her teacher lover Yip Ching. Wong Yiu, who harbours a nasty desire for Yuet-wah, discovers this. Wong Yiu informs Pak-ling, resulting in Ching's dismissal from school and Yuet-wah's confinement. Fifteen years later, the grandson Chung is now a young man in love with classmate Yeung Mei . Having run away from home in opposition to an arranged marriage by her family, Mei is staying in Ching's home while Ching tries to talk Mei's father into giving his daughter the freedom of marriage. Following Pak-ling's desire to have Chung consummate his marriage, Chung realises that the woman who has brought him up is in fact his bride. He therefore refuses to comply with his grandfather's wishes. Yuet-wah's father visits her daughter and learns of her sufferings; he expresses a wish to take her away. Yuet- wah meets Ching again, and hears that Chung wants to dissolve the child-bride marriage. Getting wind of Yuet-wah's departure, Pak-ling comes forward to stop her. Yip Ching and Wong Chung also arrive at the scene, both putting forth powerful arguments that make Pak-ling see the light. Yuet-wah and Ching finally tie the knot. (Extracted from the film handbill)
