内容介绍 :	Chen Youqing is a typist employed in a foreign company, while Chen Qiang is a teacher in a commercial school. Both live in the same apartment, sharing a room that is divided by a wooden partition. Both men despise each other and constantly get into arguments. To their new flatmate, the female teacher Hua Wanqian, the wall that divides them is like a mountain. Youqing has to look after a mother and a sick sister. Qiang, a widower, has a daughter Xiaoling , who is staying with her uncle. Wanqian helps Qiang with getting Xiaoling into school and this arouses the jealousy of Youqing, a secret admirer of Wanqian. The mistrust between the two men is dissolved with Wanqian acting as intermediary. Wanqian convinces both men that the friction between them was caused by the difficulties of making ends meet. The two men shake hands and make up. Youqing's company is suddenly closed down. Qiang resigns his job due to his unhappiness over the dismay attitude prevailing in the institute. Though he has lost his own job, Youqing pawns his one precious possession, a radio, to help Qiang overcome financial difficulties. When Wanqian relocates to another apartment, Youqing pulls down the wall that divides him and Qiang, symbolising the new-found friendship between the two men. (Based on viewing of the film.)
