内容介绍 : | If, in Hong Kong, "An Inch of Space is worth a Thousand Pieces of Gold" how do families who live in high-density HKHA flats cope with the lack of space? Do HK people have a particular way of adapting space to suit their needs? This film intorduces the Ng and the Yung families both longterm residents of medium-sized flats . After living 27 years in a one room flat the Ng family will soon move to a new Homeownership flat. They explain how the interior of their current home has envolved over the years and how they have learned to cope with the everyday problems of high- density living. How so they envisage life in their new home? After 14 years of residency, the Yung family are happy in the home they have created. But what exactly does it take to make this space a "real" home? And, how much do different members contribute to the way the home functions and looks? |
备注 : | Director's Note : It took me over five years to complete my PhD on Hong Kong public housing interior space, at the end of it, I felt I still hadn't begun to say what had to be said For this film I am indebted to the Yung and Ng Families They opened up their homes to us They showed it to us as they see it, in their words They helped us to appreciate that every home is constructed in layers, it is constantly changing and is probably the most significant space we will ever know I am very greatful to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for funding the film and taking the risk to support new, and orginal, forms of design research |
