| 内容介绍 : | A statement of protest from the director on the state of affairs of video arts. The director has turned his anger into imagination, using various approaches to present his sentiments via film. The video uses the movie mode to do a 'mock-up' of a documentary, recording interviews with video art pioneers. What it seems is not what it is, the charade technique used helps to discuss video arts in Hong Kong, analyse and deconstruct documentaries for elements of subjectivity and truth. |
| 备注 : | Director's Note : Transferring dissatisfaction and anger into imagination for a better environment While most audience and video makers still have a strong belief in documentary's objectivity in representing "reality" and " facts", I strongly believe that there are other functions of documentary to be explored The concept of STRA Mission comes form Cheung Chi Wai His belief in arts has always been a great support for his friends in their creative works We long for the day when local independent artists can have adequate resources to execute their ideas, not by writing 'clever'proposals for funding or putting themselves in great debt This work is dedicated to those who wish for a new vision in video arts in Hong Kong |
