| 内容介绍 : | Ah- chen supports her impoverished family of five by selling vegetables. With no means to pay for the medical treatment of the bedridden man of the house, the mother Second Aunt is pressed into pawning the daughter for emergency money from Kai-wah who practises usury. The father, however, fails to recover. The family works hand to eke out a living as condition gradually improves with Ah-chen receiving a stable income as a factory worker. Ah-chen's wage is being held up by the factory when the due date comes . Despite the best efforts by their neighbour Ah-kei to raise money to repay some of the loan and finally settle the debt, Kai-wah beats him up, injuring Ah-chen's mother in the commotion. Ah-chen enters into prostitution as a last resort. A patron who schemes to drug and rape her suffers a fatal heart attack. Kai-wah chases after the girl but is hit by a car. Ah-chen catches the last glimpse of her mother on her deathbed in hospital before she is taken away by the police to stand a manslaughter trial. |
