内容介绍 : | Treacherous minister Cho Tin-hung of Western Zheng lures the Mongolian troops into banditry. With the beleaguered emperor and empress fleeing for their safety, Cho dispatches his aside to persuade former general Wai Chuen-chung to reinforce the beleaguered emperor. Wai, who fell victim to the slander of a malicious courtier, now lives in retreat in the countryside with his wife Kwok Ying-neung. Exhorted by Kwok and friends, the patriotic general recruits a volunteer army with the help of his clan nephew Lau Hung to fight the righteous battle. Outnumbered by their enemies, Wai suffers successive defeats and is made captive at Dragon-Tiger Pass; though many choose to surrender, Wai would rather die than yield. Upon learning her husband's predicament, Kwok raises an army of female generals and engages the Mongolian troops in fierce battles, and succeeds to break the siege. The couple is granted a brief moment of reunion. Unable to withstand the onslaught of the rival troops, Kwok dies from a fatal arrow wound. Her dauntless spirit lingers on, until Wai pledges before her body that he will recover Zheng. Following Wai's vow, Kwok's spirit descends to heaven. (Quoted from DVD cover) |
