内容介绍 : | Cheung Yung enters into a polygamous marriage with Shum Wai-lau, abandoning his legal wife and young daughter Siu-bo who have come searching for him in Hong Kong. His wife succumbs to exhaustion and collapses, leaving Siu-bo to fend for herself from stepmother's harsh scolding and beatings. The indignant Wai-ming moves out after a dispute with her sister Wai-lau over the abuse the child suffers. Abandoned in the wilderness, Siu-bo falls ill and is rushed to the hospital where she is attended by a houseman Cheng Tsi-kin, Wai-ming's boyfriend. Wai-ming takes her in as well as the homeless children she has befriended on the streets. Meanwhile, the debt-ridden Cheung is facing a long prison sentence; Shum commits suicide from guilt over killing her new lover. Afflicted with remorse, Cheung promises to pay his dues upon his release. Having arranged for the children to attend a boarding school, Wai-ming and Cheng are about to leave for Singapore but Wai-ming is disheartened by the separation and decides to stay behind. Cheng proceeds with the plans, awaiting his transfer back to Hong Kong to marry the love of his life. |
