| 内容介绍 : | Orphan girl Cheung Tsui-luen marries her lover Lam Cheong-yin in a wedding hastily arranged by her foster father Chan Ho to ward off the aggressive suitor Chiu Yat-fu, nephew of the prime minister. Bearing a grudge, Chiu sends an arsonist to burn down the village with the perspective imperial scholar Lam away in the capital. Surviving the ordeal, the pregnant daughter and her father go to the capital to look for Lam, to no avail. Lam believes that the family has perished in the fire and, beseeched by councillor Cheung Ting- yuk, marries the prime minister's daughter Kwok Yuk-ngo. With her foster father fallen ill, Cheung has to sell her child and herself as maid to the prime minister. The couple's union is met by intrigues concocted by Chiu and Kwok. Sent to exile , Cheung reunites with her natural father, the councillor, and learns of the sinister plot. The family is finally reunited, while the plotters get their just deserts.
