内容介绍 : | The tyrannical ways and cruelty of the last ruler of Xia, King Jie, provoke widespread revolts. Spurred on by his courtier Fei Lim, the king goes on a hunting spree killing human beings instead of prey animals. The father of the commoner Mui-hei is shot dead in the slaughter. Mui- hei's lover Sing-tong is held in high esteem by the people for his accomplishments in regulating the courses of the rivers. Mui-hei urges Sing-tong to revolt against the oppressor but he resolutely refuses to turn against his country. Mui-hei marries the object of her contempt to avenge her father. Sing-tong sets off to pacify the Quanrong tribe, but the corrupt Fei implicates him as a traitor. Sing's mother is imprisoned upon Mui-hei's instigation, an act to embolden him to stage a military coup. Indeed, Sing-tong starts a revolution, joined by his brothers-in-arm. When the news of the uprising reaches Mui-hei, she rescues the mother and takes her to her son amid the chaos of war. The elder soon collapses and dies, while Mui-hei is shot dead by Jie's stray arrow. Sing-tong overthrows the regime of the tyrant and founds the Shang dynasty. (Quoted from DVD cover) |
