内容介绍 : | Ho Man-cho's widowed sister-in-law Lam is having an affair with the in-house accountant Ng Tak. To seize the family fortune, Lam bribes a fortune-teller to advise Lam to avoid intimacy with his newlywed wife Cheung Chui-ngo for a year. But Lam secretly makes love to Cheung on their wedding night, before leaving on the next day to seek employment in Beijing. When Cheung finds out about Lam and Ng's affair, Lam accuses her of bearing another man's child. Cheung is gravely injured in the scuffle and loses consciousness, and Lam leaves her for dead in the forest. But Cheung survives and starts living in an old temple, pretending to be a ghost. Later on she gives birth to a son. The beggar Lau Wah sympathises with her and brings her case to court. When Lam learns that Cheung is still alive, she sends some gangsters to kill her. One of them dies in an accident and Ng accuses Cheung of murder. The judge presiding over the case, who is a special commissioner from Beijing, turns out to be Ho. He clears Cheung's good name, and is reunited with her. (Quoted from DVD cover) |
