内容介绍 :	Liu Sek-nun studies railway engineering in America. Upon returning to China, he intends to contribute to nation-building, coming up with a plan to build a railway, entitled "New Lifeline Express." However, Sek-nun has a wife, Lai-lei, two children, and a blind mother to support. During a walk in the park, Sek-nun is mistaken for a thief and is arrested. At this time, his wife is about to give birth and mother suddenly falls ill. Though Lai-lei safely gives birth to a boy, the mother dies. Lai-lei goes to the police to plead for her husband's release. Wong Yat-chi, an old friend who is also a member of the construction committee happens to visit and immediately recognises Sek-nun. Yat-chi secures the release of Sek-nun and seeing the condition of his family, grants Sek-nun fifty thousand dollars. He also appoints Sek-nun as chief to work on the "New Lifeline Express" project.
